Job Coaching
Availability & Purpose -
Employment support in the form of job coaching is made available to certain consumers to help them transition into competitive employment. This support is provided based upon need and the authorization of the referral source. The recommendation for job coaching is dependent upon either the needs of the consumer or the difficulty of the job.
Occasionally, an employer will request job coaching services because they cannot provide additional support upon hire. Or they will call and ask for job coaching because the consumer is having difficulty adjusting to the job.
A job coach is made available during the working hours of the consumer regardless of the shift.
Reports are sent to the referral source. The reports are prepared to:
- Substantiate the need for job coaching
- Report the issues that need to be resolved
- Present the goals of the job coach
- Report on progress
- Make recommendations
